Brooklure outboards were manufactured by the Outboard Marine Corporation, Gale Products Division, Galesburg Illinois, and sold by Spiegel Inc.'s catalog business.

Spiegel sold some Neptune outboards pre 1950, but contracted with Gale from 1950-1958 for their line of Brooklure outboards.

Spiegel Inc. also sold the Brooklure outboard brand at J&R Auto Supply Co. (an auto parts chain prominent in the Midwest) which they acquired 1946.

Gales success came largely from selling private-label-branded outboard motors to department and auto chain stores such as Montgomery Ward, Spiegel and Goodyear. Private-label brands for these companies included Sea King (Montgomery Ward), Brooklure (Spiegel) and Sea Bee (Goodyear). Note: parts from the previous mentioned brands "may" fit your Brooklure of the same year and horsepower.
