Atlas Royal Outboard Motors were manufactured by Gale Products (OMC) for the Humble Oil & Refining Company's subsidiary "Atlas Supply Company" (originally founded as Atlas Packing & Rubber Company in 1929 by Standard Oil).

These Atlas Royal Outboards were distributed by Atlas Supply Co. and sold through Esso Gas Stations from 1947 thru 1956.

Humble Oil Company was founded in 1911 in Humble Texas, and on June 21 1917, the company was re-organized as Humble Oil and Refining Company. Standard Oil Company acquired 50% interest in Humble in 1919, founded Atlas in 1929, and acquired the rest of the company in September 1959.

Atlas Supply's primary retail business was sales of tires, tubes, batteries and accessories with supplements like Atlas Royal boat motor sales and distribution. They also had interest in oil and oil exploration.

In 1973, the company re-branded nationwide as Exxon, discontinuing the use of the Humble brand, along with subsidiary brands Esso and Enco.
