Seaflash Personal Watercraft by Ultra Nautics
The Ultra Nautics Sea Flash product line was produced from 1989-1992 and was introduced with the same 800 60hp Suzuki engine as the historic Wetbike. The Seaflash also allowed modifications to increase horsepower. It offered a large storage compartment in the front of the hull to stash all your goodies. Its 798cc 60hp electronic capacitor discharge ignition engine with reed valve intake and twin Mikuni carburetors offered a 7.0:1 compression ratio that ran on a 50:1 fuel/oil mixture and was one of the most reliable motors at that time. The hull was built much like a boat being made to withstand just about anything.
These personal watercraft were 9'-9.83' feet long with weight of 422-450 pounds dry (depending on model) and had a beam width of 3'8" (44 inches) with overall height of 3'9" (45 inches). They were powered by a 2-cycle 798cc 60 horsepower motor with a 1240cc 70hp model being added in 1992. Propulsion was provided by a single stage gear driven axel flow jet pump that included forward, neutral and reverse thrust modes.
The UltraNautics Seaflash was essentially an early version of what all modern personal watercraft are, a PWC that was built with ocean riding in mind, designed to be hard to flip when crashing through waves. UltraNautics had Suzuki build their older DJ60 outboard engine (which Suzuki sold in the early 80s) and UltraNautics made some modifications to put it into their lineup of jet boats, wetbikes, and Seaflash PWC's.
