Workshop Manual Supplement
This service manual supplement is intended to provide information that is unique to 2001 (SI) models and, where applicable, changes that affect 2000 (SS) models. Any information or procedures not included in this document can be found in the appropriate 2000 model year Evinrude® or Evinrude® Service Manual.
2001 Model Year Summary: There is a new 3.5 15 in. model. This engine is similar to the 3.3 model except it is equipped with F/N gearshift. See Sections 2 and 11. 90 thru 115 V4, and 150 thru 175 V6 carbureted models incorporate FFI style lower and upper engine covers.
FICHT:
- All 60° V4 and V6, 75 thru 175, carbureted and RAM models have a new larger upper mount screw that requires a new torque. See Section 9.
- All RAM models incorporate fuel injector retainers. See Section 5.
- All V4 thru V6 carbureted and RAM models have fuel and oil connections outside the lower engine cover to ease rigging. See Section 1.
- All V6 carbureted and RAM models have a new "wedge" style retainer between the propeller shaft bearing housing and gear case housing to reduce movement and increase durability. The pinion nut torque has also been increased for improved reliability. See Section 11.
- 200 thru 250 RAM models are now powered by a new 3.3L powerhead. Among the features of these new models are a new water pressure control valve, low inertia aluminum flywheel, new shorter connection rods, and oil is injected on both sides of the crankcase for more even oil distribution. The new cooling system produces lower water pressures than past models. Typical water pressure is 12-17 PSI (82,7-117 KPa). See Sections 2, 3, 5, and 9.
