About: Caille Outboards
The Caille Perfection Motor Company (a part of the Caille Brothers Manufacturing Company) produced the CAILLE line of stationary and portable marine propulsion engines from 1912 to 1934. They became one of the world’s largest producers of small rowboat motors in the early 1900's. Caille Row-Boat Motors were produced in Detroit, Michigan with a variety of innovative features that made their outboards very unique.

The Detroit-based Caille Brothers Manufacturing Company produced their line of outboard motors under the Caille Perfection Motor Co. brand.
Both brothers were practical mechanics and skilled artisans demonstrating a distinctive ability for the invention of mechanical devices. Alongside their own Caille Inboard and Outboard Motors, they also produced “badge motors” for other vendors, including:

The Pennant was a "sub brand" of Caille that could be purchased for retail sale by non-Caille dealers. The Caille Scout is essentially a Pennant without the 5 speed. The Sweet was a badge motor first made by Waterman and later by Caille. The 1926 Neptune is a single speed 2.75hp twin rowboat motor produced for Montgomery Ward catalog sales.
